Auctioneer Resale/Disenchanting Guide.

All the serious gold makers use addons to help them, one big addon and a very powerful tool in the gold maker's arsenal is Auctioneer. Many non-goldmakers have this addon but don't know how to use it, and those who do try to learn often find it hard. After all it is a very daunting addon with numerous options, on this page I'm going to go through a step by step tutorial of how to use the Resale/Disenchant Search.

Step 1:

This is what your screen should look like when you first open the auction house, pretty different to the normal ui, right?

Step 2:

Now, the first thing you have to do is scan the Auction House for data on all items, we do this by clicking on the double arrow button. You want to do this scan once a day if you can, to keep your data fresh. It should take a while depending on number of auctions and how good your computer is and your internet is. But for me it's not taken any longer than 20 minutes at most, and I usually just talk to people while it's doing, or do something else like read a book. Note: Before you do anything with Auctioneer when you're starting out, you should run this scan daily for about 2 weeks.

Step 3:

This is what your screen should look like while it's scanning, see that bar at the top right? That should fill up.

Step 4:

Right, now that's done we can move on to the real stuff. Go to the "Search" tab at the bottom of your screen.

Then you can choose a number of categories, we'll be covering Disenchant today, but Resale is a popular one and works exactly the same way.

Next you want to change some of the options, such as the miniumum profit you'll get for disenchanting. I've only put 1 copper here but you probably want to put it more in the region of 50s-1g.

You can then change it so that it shows either bids or buyouts. Generally it's best to go with buyout as you don't have to wait, but bid can be useful.

Finally go to the left corner and click "Search".

Step 5:

Your screen should now look like this, a bar slowly filling up as items in the category you were searching for appear.

Step 6:

When the search is done your screen should look something like this, lots of items and lots of numbers. Let's quickly go over what the columns mean.

Item: Is the item, obviously.

PCT: This is the percentage compared to market price, so basically if it's below 100 it's below market price according to the data we scanned with Auctioneer earlier. NOTE: You may want to scan the AH over a period of a few days to a week before you start buying with these searches, to make sure your data is acurate.

Profit: Shows the profit you will make after buying the item, and in this case disenchanting for mats.

STK: The amount being sold in the stack. In the case of armour like here, 1.

Buyout: The amount you'd have to pay to buy the item out.

Bid: The amount you'd have to pay if you were to bid on the item.

Reason: This shows the reason why you should buy it, so here because I only ticked buyout only earlier, it shows "Disenchant: buy", if I were to have ticked bid too, it would also show some as "Disenchant: bid".

The rest of the columns are of little significane.

Now, just choose an item or items and click the Purchase button.

Step 7:

Your screen should look like this, the great thing about this is you can click the purchase on a lot of items at once, then it queues them all up for you to confirm the purchase like so.

Step 8:

Now just go to the mailbox and grab your items, and in this case disenchant them before heading back to the auction house with your enchanting mats.

Now, the best way to sell things is to go to the Appraiser tab, this should bring up a screen like this.

On the left hand side are all the sellable items in your bag, so here I'm selecting Soul Dust.

All you have to do now is specify whether you want to put them all in a stack, or just in 1s (or 2s or 3s...), because remember some things sell better in stacks of 1 than they do as stacks of 20. Once you've done that all you have to do is click Post Items, as thanks to our scan earlier, Auctioneer knows what price to put it at; however if you wished to, you could change this.

Now just wait for the cash to roll in. ^^
